Jim Cabot
Founder and President

Jim Cabot has been working on sustainability and emerging technology issues for over 25 years. His focus has been the nexus of business, policy and innovation. As an entrepreneur, Harvard BA & MBA, 12 year veteran of the US EPA and 10 years at the helm of Rasky Baerlein's Energy and Environment practice, Jim has the breadth of experience needed to understand the broader landscape and the technical knowledge to implement effective strategies.


He has been nationally recognized for his expertise in strategic planning, change management and communications. Jim is currently focused on helping energy companies with their public affairs and communications needs. 


Jim has and BA from Harvard University and MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Global Leadership Council for the Natural Resources Defense Council, President's Council for the Woods Hole Research Center and is active with the American Council on Renewable Energy and the New England Clean Energy Council.

Heather Robb

Heather Robb has spent more than 20 years helping clients strategize and execute their communications programs. Robb has worked with a broad range of clients, from early-stage start ups to multi-national corporations. She has represented divisions of Kodak, Motorola and ADT, and helped both boot-strapped and venture-backed companies launch themselves and gain traction in the marketplace. Her work has spanned multiple sectors, including biotechnology, computer software and services, energy technology, and consumer products and technology. She is fluent in traditional media, social media and print communications.


Robb’s expertise includes communications strategy; messaging and positioning work; industry influencer and media cultivation; customer and partner reference programs; website development and written communications. As a facilitator, Robb has led workshops designed to distill clients’ mission and messages into crisp positioning statements. She has trained executive spokespersons to interact productively with the media and industry analysts, and coached them to effectively deliver corporate and product messages while building valuable relationships. Robb has delivered high-profile results for her clients, securing articles in Forbes, Fortune, Investor’s Business Daily, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.


In 2009, Robb launched HPR Communications to employ her extensive PR experience on generating mission-enhancing results for entrepreneurial and non-profit organizations. Robb received her BA in English Literature from Simmons College.  She lives in Wenham, MA.  Her volunteer efforts are focused on sustainability, land preservation and her sons’ schools.

Lea Rutledge acts as Senior Advisor at Cabot Strategies, supporting the development of communications strategies and leading market research and analysis. Prior to joining Cabot Strategies, Lea completed a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Sustainability Certificate at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Lea currently participates in ongoing research in energy management for the Sustainability Initiative at MIT Sloan.


Prior to MIT, Lea spent seven years consulting to Fortune 500 clients in the U.S. electric utility sector on federal and state environmental and energy policy and corporate sustainability strategy.  She specialized in strengthening companies’ disclosure and performance on environmental issues including air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, water use, waste reduction, and renewable energy. 


Lea holds a BA from Drew University and an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a member of New England Women in Energy and Environment and the Appalachian Mountain Club. Lea lives in Boston with her husband, Adam and her son, John.
